I believe that each of us has a dream.  If we are fortunate, we discover early that we have a certain talent and it is recognized and developed by the people who we look to for guidance.  Or, we find our passion through education and move single-mindedly toward our goal.  Myself, I am still watching my dream unfold.

As a child I was taught that all things were possible and I had a role to play in creating possibilities out of what appeared to be the impossible.  Further, this role would extend beyond me to the lives of others.  My family provided me a very good springboard to propel my life forward; and yet, I still felt there was something more for me that I could not define.

I finished college later in life earning a degree in Human Resource Management from the University of San Francisco.  I put my degree to work as a Senior Training Specialist and Certified Trainer with Citibank Arizona which after many years in banking marked the first leg of my journey in discovering my niche.  I then had a couple of beautiful children, Phillip who is now in his 20s and lives in Las Vegas, and Maya who is soon to be 20 and lives at home with me.  Maya also provided me a piece of my niche as she was born with Down Syndrome.  For most of my children’s lives, I have been a single-mom; another aspect of my niche. 

Through my children’s youth, I started and ran two businesses, a mentoring program for youth in delinquency, and an apartment complex that I ran as off-campus housing for college students.  In both scenarios I coordinated and collaborated with government and/or academic agencies, community organizations, service providers, etc. to find my youth services, jobs, scholarships, mentors, whatever we felt was needed to move them along in their journey to the next step.  I became a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and a certified Mentor for youth in Dependency and Delinquency adding another aspect to my niche.  I did this while serving as care-giver to my aging family members. 

In 2003, after 15 years of taking care of elders and raising lots of young people, I decided it was my turn, and picked up my two children and moved to North Carolina from California.  As I looked at my experience and tried to remember my dream, I became increasingly aware that I wasn’t sure just what I wanted to do with my life at this point.  Luckily for me, there was a TV program on the air at the time called the, “Starting Over House.”  After watching for a season I decided I would become a Life Coach (after all that was what I had done in some form or another for most of my life) and I proceeded to enroll at InnerVisions Institute in their Spiritual Life Coaching program under the direction of one of the show’s coaches, Iyanla VanZant. 

During the later part of my second year at InnerVisions, I was offered a coaching position with Inspire, Inc.  I joined the Inspire team, became their Manager of Coaching, and was on-staff until November of 2007.  I currently maintain a relationship with Inspire as a Referral Coach. 

Creating my own coaching business utilizing the experiences I have had and the training I have received is my dream.  It has taken Faith (thus the name faythenme) to step out on my own and make my dream become my reality.  Through my journey, I am holding a space for every person who has a dream they are yet to fulfill or recognize.  I am here to support you in making that dream come true.
